Worst Government Experiments: Discover the top 5 worst U.S. Government Human Experiments – Top 5

Discover5 Top 5 Worst U.S. Government Experiments 5. The Tuskegee Study – 1932 to 1972 The U.S. Public Health Service and the Tuskegee University conducted a 40 year study on poor African-American men from Macon County Alabama. The intent of the experiment was to study the progression of syphilis. The study was officially called “Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male” and included 600 men; 399 men with syphilis and a control group of 201 men that did not have the disease. In 1947 penicillin became the standard treatment for syphilis, but the treatment was withheld from the men so that the study could continue. The men participating in the study were never told they had syphilis. At least 28, possibly more than 100, of the men died directly from syphilis, while others became permanently blind or insane. 4. Chemical Testing on Prisoners – 1951 to 1974 Over the course of 20 years, noted dermatologist Dr. Albert Kligman conducted human experiments on hundreds of inmates at Holmesburg Prison in Philadelphia, PA. The prisoners were paid to test seemingly benign items such as deodorant, toothpaste, foot powder, shampoo, lotions and skin creams. Unbeknownst to the inmates, the tests also involved mind altering drugs, radioactive isotopes and dioxin, a primary ingredient in Agent Orange. Inmates were not only exposed to dioxin, but Dr. Kligman also injected them with large doses of the chemical. Dr. Kligman’s research was funded by the US Army, the Department of Defense, Dow Chemical (maker of Agent Orange), and others. When entering the Holmesburg Prison for the first time, Kligman stated “All I saw before me were acres of skin”… “It was like a farmer seeing a fertile field for the first time” 3. Project MKULTRA, Subproject 68 – 1953 to 1973 MKULTRA was a CIA program to test the effects of drugs and biological agents for use in behavioral modification and mind control. Six of the more than 150 subprojects involved testing on non-consenting humans, including subproject 68. The goal of Subproject 68, ran by Dr. Donald Cameron, was to examine methods of influencing and controlling the human mind and to extract information from resistant minds. Cameron conducted experiments on anxiety and depression patients that had been admitted to Allen Memorial Institute in Montreal, Canada. Cameron manipulated people’s mental states and altered brain functions by administering drugs (especially LSD) and other chemicals, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, isolation, verbal and sexual abuse, and various forms of torture. Many of the victims suffered permanently from Cameron’s actions, including incontinence, amnesia, forgetting how to talk, and forgetting their parents. Rumors suggest that Ted Kaczynski (a.k.a. The Unabomber) was one of the many victims of MKULTRA. 2. Biological Agent Testing – 1949 to 1969 From 1949 to 1969 the U.S. Government conducted numerous tests to evaluate the susceptibility of American cities to biological attacks and to assess aerosolization and dispersal methods of biological agents. The “tests” included: The U.S. military released mosquitos infected with Yellow Fever and Dengue Fever over Savannah, Georgia and Avon Park, Florida. The U.S. Army released bacteria into the New York subway ventilation system. The U.S. Navy sprayed clouds of bacteria over San Francisco infecting 800,000 people in the Bay area alone. Many people became ill with pneumonia-like symptoms and at least one man died. The CIA released whooping cough virus over Tampa Bay, which lead to an epidemic and 12 deaths. In 1977 U.S. Senate hearings on Health and Scientific Research confirmed that 239 populated areas had been intentionally contaminated with biological agents between 1949 and 1969, including metro areas such as Minneapolis, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and St. Louis. 1. Radioactive Babies – 1953 to 1954 Dr. Lester Van Middlesworth conducted a study at the now defunct John Gaston Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The study involved injecting seven newborn babies with radioactive iodine-131 to study thyroid function. As a result of the study, Van Middlesworth discovered an easily measurable method for determining the amount of radioactive fallout throughout the world after a nuclear explosion. This discovery led to Dr. Van Middlesworth receiving a Career Research Award from the National Institute of Health. The infamous “study” was funded by grants from the US Atomic Energy Commission (now the Department of Energy). Similar experiments were conducted in Michigan, Nebraska, Arkansas, and Iowa. A total of 235 infants were exposed to radiation during these experiments. Subscribe to Discover 5 Inspiration provided by Dark5 and AllTime10s. Our government is using military weapons on innocent people in the United States. Lockheed Martin's allowing employees to electronically harass anyone they see fit by allowing them to use surveillance equipment for personal use. Google and YouTube electronic harassment, illegal surveillance and torture on anyone they want to!! They use this weapon on true mental cases and drug addicts so true reports of electronic harassment are overlooked and the people making the report are labeled mental insane! Lockheed Martin is responsible for thousands of people being tortured in America!!
