    I fear this is a reductionist and mechanistic view of human beings. Listen to the neuroscientist Antonio Damasio on the primal complexity of emotion and its relationship to human physiology (down to the cellular)…a deeply complex and highly evolved system of life. Damasio fittingly questions the merits of AI knowing what he does about human mentation and its foundations in emotion as an expression of homeostasis. Some of these AI exponents come off as self promoters looking for enrichment.

    While there are some inspiring thoughts in this, the credibility is just ruined by the fake science passed as reality. Computers? Should they be a slave or a master? Example: Recognition based on more factors makes good software, but it is not learning…
    Note:. Being less stupid with emotions means minimizing them…. Human or not.

    So we want to give robots empathy while teaching people to ignore their own? What could possibly go wrong?

    36:30 Now imagine an AI "baby" with the entire recorded collective knowledge of all humanity at it's beckon call in a nano second, without ANY innate spiritual compass or morals and the ability to learn at a beyond super human quantum level above it's frail human creator. Now imagine that in charge of us ! Welcome to what these idiots want to unleash on humanity

    No, we dont need robots to do what people have done for one another since our inception. They can never have true emotion. Nor should they, as it opens a whole nother can of worms. We have already been warned. The way she says "aww, how cute", to lower your guard and accept them. Once they are close they will dominate us. Not the robots themselves, but their creators. Their programmes. Or rather those that fund them. The boots are nearing our necks. Shake loose, and awaken these fools from fantasy
    We will never submit our minds our environment to the will of the few. I feel sick looking at these naive scientists. The truly believe that what the do is for the good of humanity. All that school, you should know better. Your work will be taken and applied to whatever sector it can make the most of itself in. War, policing, social monitoring and "security". Now ask yourself who will write the laws? You may well find yourself on the wrong side of it tomorrow.

    To date, there has been no demonstrable causative correlation between brain and intelligence except that which has been prematurely inferred.

    The whole concept of creating human intelligence is delusional.
    WE are biological beings. Our brains are part of an unimaginably complex feedback system within our own bodies and outside to the far stretches of the universe down to the paradoxes presented by the quantum dimension.
    This entire exercise however, is indeed indicative of the extent to which we are capable of self-delusion.
    Now, if they could build an AI that could recognize PSYCHOPATHS, THAT could be a huge leap forward for humankind!

    Imagine that. Scientists and engineers attempting to create robots that are as life-like as possible.

    We have eyes, so we give them "sight" we have ears, so we make them to "hear" we have speech, so we give them a voice;

    We have intelligence, so we make them with "artificial intelligence" – Whatever that is.

    Just imagine, scientists and biologists using their combined INTELLIGENCE to try to create life, in an attempt to prove that INTELLIGENCE was not NECESSARY to create it in the first place;

    That whoever gave us sight was blind, whoever gave us hearing was deaf, whoever gave us speech was dumb, and whoever gave us intelligence was mindless – Chance.

    Blind, deaf, dumb, mindless Chance – Evolution.

    In endless mazes lost.

    "If we give robots empathy they won't hurt us".

    Seeing how humans treat our nearest relatives and each other and considering the later statement "our reality isn't their [computer/robot] reality", isn't this first sentence a little naive?
